On August 28th, Acción Andina participated in Cochabamba, Bolivia in a public presentation of Nonviolent Peaceforce and civil unarmed protective work in violence-struck regions.
The meeting was hosted by Somos Sur, a local collective of people who organize weekly radio and face-to-face sessions of information exchange, discussions and analysis of important social topics, with the participation of a wide variety of Bolivian social actors and their representatives.
The program of the meeting included the presentation of a video on PBI activities in Guatemala, called: "En busca de dignidad"; as well as a guided group discussion on multilateral security and civil protection policy, its main problems, and possible alternatives. The reactions of the participants were very positive, and a new meeting on how to build capacity for nonviolent action was.requested.
