Along with other NGOs and prominent leaders, NP is calling on all Heads of State, the UN Security Council, and actors on the ground, to prioritize the preservation of human life above all else. The UN Security Council, the UN Secretary General and all world leaders with influence must take immediate action to ensure a ceasefire comes into effect. It remains our only option to avert further loss of civilian life and humanitarian catastrophe. Anything less will forever be a stain on our collective conscience.

Additionally, amidst escalating conflict in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories, Nonviolent Peaceforce recently signed a letter urging Congress and the U.S. administration to publicly call for a ceasefire. We urge all parties to prioritize the protection of civilians, and respect humanitarian law. Our letter, signed by over 60 national organizations, representing tens of millions of Americans, was sent to every office on Capitol Hill and the White House on October 16, 2023.
