November 23

The Problem of Peace, a Reckoning

The gathering begins with a facilitated dialogue and a short meditation on what the word “peace” brings up for you. This will open space to name the conflict and tension involved in pursuing peace. After time to reflect, practitioners (including NP’s UN Representative) will share critical examples from their lived experience, grounded in an intersectional feminist approach to peace in practice. You’ll leave with an invitation to start shaping a peace practice of your own.

Nonviolence Cafes

Pull up a chair for honest conversations about what it takes to keep people safe without weapons. Our free virtual webinar series brings you face to face with Nonviolent Peaceforce leadership, frontline protection officers, and thought leaders in nonviolence and peacebuilding. They share real stories from communities in South Sudan, Ukraine, Myanmar, the Philippines, and beyond.

Each cafe explores a different side of Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP): how communities prepare for crisis, how conflict can be de-escalated, and how ordinary people become protectors. Watch the next one live to ask your questions, or catch up on more than 30 past episodes anytime on YouTube.
