FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nonviolent Peaceforce Community Safety Team will be Activated on March 8, 2021
Nonviolent Peaceforce will be activating Community Safety Teams in neighborhoods and at demonstrations at flashpoints during the Derek Chauvin trial.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 6, 2021— On March 8, there will be 20+ members of Community Safety Teams starting at the Hennepin County Government Center beginning at 8:00am.
Community Safety Team UniformNeighbors and community organizations are concerned about what increased law enforcement and the presence of National Guard could mean, given last summer's use of excessive force and lack of accountability.
Over the past few weeks, Nonviolent Peaceforce has trained 85 Twin Cities volunteers in de-escalation, nonviolence, and unarmed civilian protection.
NP is independent and nonpartisan. If you are looking for information about the demonstrations, we refer you to this link.
The members of Nonviolent Peaceforce Community Safety Team are an unarmed civilian protection team and are committed and trained to prevent violence and focus on keeping everyone safe.
