Update on the Government of the Philippines and Moro Islamic Liberation Front Peace Process

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) has posted a set of frequently asked questions about the Bangsamoro Basic Law, the draft of which President Benigno Aquino III personally submitted to Congress leaders on Wednesday 10 September.
The Bangsamoro Basic Law abolishes the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and establishes the new Bangsamoro political identity in its place. The law is based on the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro signed by the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in March this year.
