The Minnesota Fellowship of Reconciliation (MN FOR) is presenting "Peacemaker of the Year" to Mel Duncan at their annual fall conference on November 6th at Hamline University. Mel Duncan is the Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Nonviolent Peaceforce as well as co-founder of the organization. This conference marks the 75th anniversary of MN FOR.
(Published Oct. 31, 2016) Past recipients of this honor include Polly Mann (WAMM), John & Marie Braun (Wednesday peace vigil on the Marshall-Lake Street Bridge), Chuck McDew (SNCC), Don Irish (St. Paul Friends), Bishop Lowell Erdahl (ELCA), and the McDonald sisters (peace demonstration activists) among others.
Mel Duncan is honored to accept this award on behalf of those who helped build Nonviolent Peaceforce and the unarmed civilian protectors in the field today, local partners, and those working to support them.
We invite you to join us at the conference to hear remarks from Mel as well as Anthony Grimes, National FOR Director of Campaigns, on Ferguson and Black Lives Matter. The event is free and open to all.
