Nonviolent Peaceforce announces Tiffany Easthom as Executive Director

Date: August 16, 2016

(Published Aug. 16, 2016) Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiffany Easthom as its new Executive Director. The Board of Directors and staff are thrilled to have Tiffany lead Nonviolent Peaceforce when the protection of civilians living in situations of violence or threat of violence is so needed.

Tiffany has been with Nonviolent Peaceforce for seven years providing leadership and program development in Sri Lanka, South Sudan and most recently, Beirut, Lebanon. Prior to working for Nonviolent Peaceforce, Tiffany served as Country Director for Peace Brigades International in Indonesia. She is originally from Canada and holds a BA in Justice Studies and a MA in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Tiffany stated, “I am so honored to be leading Nonviolent Peaceforce when the world is facing massive migration due to armed conflict at the same time unarmed civilian protection is gaining greater recognition as an important means of protecting civilians.” Nonviolent Peaceforce currently employs over 200 peacekeepers in South Sudan, the Philippines, Myanmar and Middle East. Tiffany’s experience working in several complex international situations is invaluable to Nonviolent Peaceforce as the organization looks to expanding its efforts and advocating for unarmed approaches to protecting civilians.

We are excited to have Tiffany lead our organization. Please join us in welcoming her into her new position as the Executive Director of Nonviolent Peaceforce.

You can protect civilians who are living in or fleeing violent conflict. Your contribution will transform the world's response to conflict.
