The Nonviolent Peaceforce has taken Ann Frisch across the globe, first as a civilian peacekeeper and now as a spokesperson for others.

In 2007, the White Bear Lake woman served four months in Guatemala protecting civil rights investigators. In the years since, the retired college professor has traveled to Canada, Switzerland and South Sudan to learn more about and promote the peace organization.

The international nonpartisan nonprofit sends unarmed civilian “peacekeepers” to war-torn countries on two-year missions to facilitate conflict resolution efforts and to protect civilians. Established in 2002, it currently has teams in Sudan, the Philippines and the South Caucasus. Its U.S. base is in Minneapolis.

You can protect civilians who are living in or fleeing violent conflict. Your contribution will transform the world's response to conflict.
