Hub for Nonviolence and Safety to Open in Minneapolis Nov 14

MINNEAPOLIS, November 7, 2023—Nonviolent Peaceforce is hosting a grand opening celebration for the new Hub for Nonviolence and Safety. The Hub for Nonviolence and Safety is the new location for Nonviolent Peaceforce’s Community Peacebuilding Program in the same building Aldi formerly occupied. Nonviolent Peaceforce will co-locate and collaborate with other violence prevention, violence intervention, and community safety organizations in the Hub, including 8218 Truce Center. 8218 Truce Center will expand its work to Minneapolis with its location at the Hub.
- Where: The Hub for Nonviolence and Safety at 2143 Lowry Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55412. The Hub entrance is on Lowry Avenue and is located on the second floor.
- When: Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm. A short program will begin at 4pm.
- Who: Community members, local organizations, and media are invited to take part in the grand opening of the Hub for Nonviolence and Safety.
The program will include remarks by Cynthia Wilson, NAACP Minneapolis President, Spike Moss, community activist and freedom fighter, Will Wallace, Director of Community Peacebuilding at Nonviolent Peaceforce, Joe Davis, artist, and Miki Frost, Program Director of 8218 Truce Center.
