Nonviolent Peaceforce Community Safety Team will be Activated on March 29, 2021

Nonviolent Peaceforce will be activating Community Safety Teams in neighborhoods and at demonstrations at flashpoints during the Derek Chauvin trial.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 27, 2021— On March 29, members of Community Safety Teams will be providing unarmed civilian protection at the Hennepin County Government Center/ Downtown Minneapolis from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Community Safety Team UniformNeighbors and community organizations are concerned about what increased law enforcement and the presence of National Guard could mean, given last summer's use of excessive force and lack of accountability.

Nonviolent Peaceforce has trained 85 Twin Cities volunteers in de-escalation, nonviolence, and unarmed civilian protection.
